I did it, I took profits! Paid off debt, and now to DCA back in

For the first time since 2021 I cashed out. I've bought/sold plenty of times since starting my journey, though mostly held and continue to farm DeFi as a sort of crypto-based perpetuity, but for the first time I sold a chunk of my BTC to pay off my remaining debt.

I'm now free of all credit card debt for the first time ever! Been cycling 0% loans forever, but it still weighed on me and it's just too risky when life happens and you need liquidity (learned this the ... suboptimal way). My only remaining debt is my mortgage, but maybe after this next cycle I can be completely debt free.

Hot damn #feelsgoodman

Given that I've been DCAing in all the way from the bottom of 16k, I was able to sell about half my BTC which covered my entire initial capital outlay and so now I'm left with all profit and it's back to DCA until we hit the real bull run. After locking in my profits I'm still left with a nice chunk of cash so I'm just going to rebalance my portfolio via DCA while letting it sit (I use Coinbase and it's giving 5% APY on USDC, so no reason to rush it).

I wanted to share this because it's a massive psychological relief and a gentle reminder to a) not be greedy, b) have a plan and follow it i.e. diamond hands, and c) take your anxiety-fueled profits! Crypto isn't going anywhere but ⬆️ and ➡️. I've been wanting hit the sell button for months and I get it, selling is hard, but kicking yourself in the nuts when you could have sold and now it crashed and now you need to wait another 2 years is worse.

Good luck out there fellas, it's a good day! submitted by /u/CryptoDad2100

How do you track your crypto?

each year keeping track of my portfolio gets more and more complex. i use coinstats on my phones to be able to take a quick glance on where i am in regards to gains/losses but with staking and swapping things get ugly. also have an excel spreadsheet that i use for just basic buys/sells/transfers and then koinly for tax crap/reports. today i swapped some crypto and was updating my app and spreadsheets and realized… this shit is complex and sucks to try to keep a heads up on. in a way keeping track of things made me realize that my tiny gains if any may not be worth all of the effort involved so i may just consolidate my portfolio into some top ten coins/tokens and play the super long game. koinly helps but still needs a lot of babysitting depending on if things are on an exchange or on wallets. my cost basis in the coinstats app got all jacked up and now i need to go back and resetup all my coins/tokens in it. uggh. so…. how do you keep track of your holdings? has tracking them ...

Profit taking strategies?

Been in crypto since 2018…lost my ass during 1st bull run, doubled down and averaged down, then 2nd bull run I made great gains but didn’t take any profit. What’s your strategy for profit taking???? Have a lot of anxiety (good anxiety lol) about next bull run, and I want to take profit but really not sure what is the best strategy??? Right now I have a spread sheet, 10 profit taking trades on each coin I hold. My logic is, for every 10% gain past all time highs, I pull 5% off the table. Does this make sense or am I shooting dice?! submitted by /u/SirDrLeto [link] [comments] http://dlvr.it/T0X6zM
