How does shopping online with ETH work in 2024?

Years ago there was a lot of talk about how crypto is going to replace banks and become an easy way to pay for stuff online. There was a lot of speculation about how it would eventually become normalized to the point where pretty much every major store accepts it. More and more stores would start adding the option and others follow them seemed to be a very popular prognosis. I know that there is Bitpay and quite a bunch of stores that accept crypto as payment currently but I feel like they're still super rare, especially in Europe. How's your experience with that aspect of crypto so far? Is it underwhealming when it comes for just straight up using the currency to shop, still? Are there some decent stores that did implement it and it worked out for them that you know? submitted by /u/primaloes [link] [comments] http://dlvr.it/T8sWQB

Migrating social community from META to Web3. What are my options?

I am new to web3 so any suggestions, advice, or thoughts are appreciated. I run a social community with a 1000+ active members that live on whatsapp and IG. We also do in person events. Goal is to basically have our own social platform. Chat, set events, subgroups, pictures and charge memberships. I want to migrate to a decentralized platform that allows us more admin control to keep our customer data private from 3rd party platforms. We also have the hope of utilizing digital currency for payments. submitted by /u/AlwaysWorkin [link] [comments] http://dlvr.it/T8gZ7m

Thoughts on effective crypto investment strategies

I am sharing my crypto investment strategy and calculations. It has worked and been effective for me for the past 8 years in crypto. What do you guys think, feel free to add. My principles: Diversity: Basically all your eggs are in one basket because everything goes up and down with BTC. Only the percentage move differs but the direction is always the same. Liquidity: According to your investment size you want enough liquidity to enter and exit easily. Your investment can be worth $10 Million but it is zero if you can't sell it. Project: Must be delivering some unique value in its use case. Too many new projects popping out with same technology should be ignored. Accumulation strategy: Accumulating every 20%-35% dips. Exit strategy: Selling after 3-4 years in a bull cycle. Coin selection: I segment all my portfolios based on use cases and what are the leading coins in that segment and what are very new coins that are working on an issue faced by these leading coins. ...

How to make a secure last will?

Hi, I would like to make a secure last will just to make sure that if something happens my family is able to use everything I own without getting scamed or selling something for low price. My plan is to make something like "readme" file that would contain a tutorial for dummies to everything (from managing of assets, price expectations, taxes, etc.) and save it on HW encrypted usb together with passwords, credentials, seeds, etc. Now to my question- is it save to take raspberry pi, put Tails on it, load everything manualy into the usb (raspberry wont be connected to internet during this), cypher tha usb, rewrite the raspberry. Could you spot some weakspot in this?. Usb and password will be then stored separately in family submitted by /u/arktozc [link] [comments] http://dlvr.it/T8bwkf

Understanding How Crypto Gifts Are Taxed: What You Need to Know

*USA Only\* Introduction I have been getting a lot of similar questions around how crypto gifts are taxed, so I thought I'd make a post breaking it down and clarifying some of the recurring questions. See the bottom for some strategy on how to optimize gifts and donations. When receiving a gift, you do not pay any tax. Receiving a gift is a tax free event for the recipient. When giving a gift, you may be subject to the "gift tax". For gifts over the annual exclusion limit ($17k for 2023), you must report the gift on Form 709 where you'll follow the steps to determine if tax is owed. The gift tax amount is not fixed and can range from ~0%-40% on the amount over the exclusion limit. There is also a lifetime limit ($12.92M for 2023). Do the recipient of the gift a favor and provide them with your cost basis, they'll need it later. As the recipient of a gift, you will be subject to capital gains tax when you sell the gift. Capital gains/(...

Bitcoin Price Analysis for June 18, 2024

Bitcoin continues to trade within the support range of $65,200–$66,800 and the resistance zone of $70,900–$72,700. We can almost observe in real-time how the market reacts to this support level, which will likely dictate the asset's next direction. If buyers cannot sustain the price above the crucial psychological level of $65,000, the coin may decline to the zones of $62,500–$63,500 and $60,880. However, such a drop should not be interpreted as the beginning of a trend reversal but rather as a correction within an overarching upward trend. For continued growth and to reach new highs, Bitcoin needs to break through the $70,900–$72,700 zone on significant trading volumes. Until this occurs, we can expect the market to remain flat for several more weeks. https://preview.redd.it/q064t8r5oc7d1.png?width=2939&format=png&auto=webp&s=83094af3fbfbf91707c707f82eadaf3080c814db submitted by /u/Crypto_1222 [link] [comments] http://dlvr.it/T8Vc0Q
